The 3 days Uganda gorilla  safari takes you to home of remaining endangered mountain gorillas Bwindi Impenetrable National Park located in southwest Uganda in the edges of Rife valley. The park covers an area of about 331 square kilometers and it is being governed by Uganda Wildlife Authority. Bwindi impenetrable national park has half of the remaining endangered mountain gorillas in the world. The park has got other wildlife like forest elephants and monkeys, it has over 347 bird species and you will go for Batwa community experience.

Day 1: Pick up from the hotel and transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park

 Leave Kampala at 6:30 am after breakfast. The journey from Kampala to Bwindi impenetrable national park takes 9-10 hours’ drive.  Drive through quite scenic and varies in what you will see along the way with first stopover at the Uganda equators where you will stand in two hemispheres at the same time.  Proceed to Igongo Cultural Centre where you will purchase hand craft and enjoy local lunch from the cultural Centre.

Proceed to Bwindi impenetrable national park with beautiful view of rolling hills, landscapes, banana plantation and you will see long horned Ankole cattle grazing along the way. Upon arrival at the park check-in at the lodge for dinner and overnight stay at Gorilla safari lodge [luxury], Gorilla Mist camp [mid-range] or Buhoma community camp [Budget]

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking and Batwa experience

Set out of the lodge after morning breakfast with your hiking boots, packed sacks, light rain jacket, garden gloves and enough drinking water. Report to the park’s headquarters for briefing on do’s and don’ts of gorillas trekking before starting the trek. Game ranger will give you give of 8 people per gorillas family and you will be driven to the starting point to start your along waiting experience. We do advice you to hire a porter to help you during the hike and to buy walking stick.

Storm into the jungle and hiking through this mysterious and magnificent forest where there is much to see on hike to find the Mountain Gorilla family in their natural habituate. You will encounter the flora and fauna, the other primates, mammals, birds and butterflies.

Remember the gorilla trekking involve some climbing and hiking but still you will enjoy after finding Gentle Giants of the Forest, you will observe them just a few meters from you, watch young ones playing from branch to branch, mothers with a baby, the gorillas doing their daily routine and silver back guarding its family.

 Return to the headquarters where you will meet your guide/driver waiting to drive you to the lodge for lunch. After lunch go for community walk where you will see traditional ways, from the brewing of local beer to remedies made from the forest.  There will be some dancing and entertainment as you see the ways of life for the surroundings. Return back to lodge for dinner and overnight stay at previous lodge.

 Day 3: Departure

Your finally day from land of endangered mountain gorillas, take breakfast and check-out of the lodge. Drive back to Kampala with stopover at Mbarara for lunch, proceed to the Equator for picture-taking and then later drop off at the hotel or Entebbe international airport.
