This 3 days  Uganda wildlife safari package will take you to Mt. Elgon national park to visit Sipi falls and Kidepo valley national park for wildlife viewing.

Kidepo Valley National Park is located in Northeast region of Karamoja in Kaabong district. The park was established as National park in 1958 and it’s being managed by Uganda Wildlife Authority. Some of the wildlife found in Kidepo valley national park includes lions, giraffes, cheetahs, caracal, aardwolf, zebras, mountain reedbuck and leopards to list the few.

Day 1: Transfer from Kampala to Sipi falls

Day 2: Drive to Kidepo Valley National Park

Day 3: Full day game drive

Day 4: Kanangorok hot springs visit and cultural visit

Day 5: Departure

Day 1: Transfer from Kampala to Sipi falls

Depart Kampala very early in the morning so as to avoid traffic jam. Drive to eastern Uganda with first stop over at Namawojolo market for road side bites like chicken, roasted meat and roasted banana well known as ‘’gonja’’. Most of all people around that area, have great hospitality and selling bites on road side is their daily activity that enables them to get money to educate their children and for medical bills.

Proceed with journey passing Mabira forest, the biggest forest in Uganda, tea plantations, sugar cane plantation and pass via source of the River Nile which is the longest river in the world and you will see the Owen falls dam where electricity is generated from.

 Proceed to Mbale town and upon arrival you will have lunch and after lunch drive to sipi falls to hike the falls.

 Drive to the lodge for dinner and overnight at Sipi lodge

Day 2: Transfer to Kidepo Valley National Park

Rise early and have delicious breakfast there after which you will be transfer to northeast region of Karamoja at Kidepo valley national park. Enjoy your drive to Kidepo valley national park with scenic views of landscapes, volcanoes, green grass, local homestead and massive savannah vegetation that ushers you into the park. Upon arrival, you will check-in at the lodge for dinner and overnight stay at Apoka safari lodge.

Day 3: Full day game drive

Take morning cup of coffee and leave the lodge for morning game drive with your safaris guide in search of wildlife. You will view a variety of mammals and bird species.  Expect to encounter herds of elephants, buffalos, lions, giraffes, cheetahs and mountain reedbuck to mention the few. You will encounter different types of bird species which includes Ostrich, Ethiopian swallow, Red-throated bee-eater, white-bellied goo-away bird, Rose-ringed parakeet, pygmy falcon and Northern carmine bee-eater to mention the few.

Return to the lodge for lunch break and after lunch, go for another game drive in search of more wildlife and head to Mountain Morungule for forest walk and you will see different types of birds, trees, wildlife like monkeys, floras and fauna.

 Drive back to the lodge with en-route game drive with higher chances of seeing lions and other wildlife. Dinner and overnight stay at Apoka safari lodge.

Day 4: visit to Kanangorok hot springs and a cultural visit

Rise with morning cup of African coffee, after take a drive to Kanangorok hot springs driving through Kidepo River where you will spots some wildlife drinking water from the river bank. The word Kanangorok means ‘’the place of black stones’’. When at Kanangorok hot springs you will sees plenty of wildlife that includes elephants, giraffes, cheetahs, lions, Ostriches, zebras and kudos to list the few. You will enjoy the ride in the plains of Kidepo valley national park.

Drive back to the lodge for lunch break and after lunch, you will head for cultural visit to the neighboring communities. You will visit the Karamajong Manyattas which are made of cow dung and you will enjoy the traditional dances and you get to interact with these nomads pastoralist.

Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay at Apoka safari lodge.

Day 5: Departure

Wake up early and have morning breakfast. Check-out of the lodge for transfer back to Kampala passing via Lira and Karuma highway. Arrival to Kampala late in the evening and you will be dropped to the hotel or Entebbe international airport for your flight back home.
