This 6 days Uganda safari takes you to 3 major national parks in Uganda. You will start the tour with Kibale forest national park which is a home to the highest population of primate species in Africa. Proceed to Queen Elizabeth national park famously known for its tree climbing lions and wildlife. You will encounter different types of wildlife like lions, elephants, hippos, warthogs, giraffes and leopards to mention the few. Your tour will end with a visit to Bwindi impenetrable national park a home to the remaining endangered mountain gorillas in the whole world.  

 Day 1: Transfer to Kibale National Park

Pick up from the hotel or Entebbe international airport for transfer to Kibale forest national park to track chimps. You will drive through Kampala via Fort Portal highway to Kibale forest national park with scenic view of tea plantation farms and beautiful rolling hills.  Have en-route lunch from Fort Portal town and after proceed to the park where you will check-in at the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

 Day 2: Chimpanzee tracking and transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park

Rise early and have cup of coffee. Our company guide will drive you to the park’s headquarters for briefings on rules and regulation of chimpanzee tracking. Chimpanzee tracking takes 3-4 hours to come cross our close relatives. During the trek expect to see other primates like white and black Colobus monkeys, olive baboons, red Colobus, grey checked mangabey in the forest. After finding the chimps, you will spend one hour with them and then return to the starting point where you will meet your safari guide waiting to transport you to the lodge.

 Have lunch and then get ready for 2 hours’ drive to Queen Elizabeth national park, arriving late in the evening. En-route game drive, as you are proceeding to the lodge for check-in. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.

Day 3: Morning game drive and afternoon Launch Cruise

Wake up early and carry your packed breakfast and head for morning game drive in search of early hunters. You will have panic breakfast on the wilderness. Drive to Kasenyi sector where there is higher concentration of wildlife. You will get a chance of viewing different wildlife like lions, elephants, buffaloes, zebras, kobs, leopards, warthogs and water-buck to list the few.

Drive back to lodge for lunch break and after lunch head out to Kazinga channel for your 2 hour’s boat cruise. Enjoy the boat cruise with view of school of hippos, crocodiles, lizards and you will see animals at the lake shore drinking water and you will view plenty of bird species. 

Return to your lodge for Dinner and overnight stay at the previous lodge.  

Day 4: Transfer to Bwindi National Park

Take morning breakfast and you will be transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park. Drive through beautiful country side with view of rolling hills, ever green vegetation and long horned ankole cattle with stop over at an interesting points.  You will have en-route lunch and then proceed to the home of the mountain gorillas.

Check-in at the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

 Day 5: Mountain Gorilla Trekking and visit Batwa Pygmies

Leave the lodge and report to the park’s headquarters for briefing by the park’s game rangers on how to conduct mountain gorillas trekking. You will split into a group of 8 tourists per gorilla family. Gorilla trekking takes half an hour to 8 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas in search of fresh food and depending on where they built their nest the previous night. If you are not physically fit; you can hire a porter to help you during the hike. You will be allowed one hour with the gorillas’ after finding them.

Return to the lodge for lunch and after lunch head out to visit the Batwe pygmies communities, you will enjoy their traditional dances, traditional weddings and you will test their local foods. You will get a chance to interact with former poachers and you will learn more about their cultural beliefs

 Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay at the previous lodge.

Day 6: Departure

Here comes your finally day in the land of mountain gorillas. Take morning tea and check-out of the lodge for transfer back to Kampala. Drop off at the hotel or Entebbe international airport to catch up with your flight back home.
